While staging at the American Legion in Oak Grove, KY, a Major from the 101st (who is also a PGR member) rolled into the staging area to say a few words once everyone who could make it arrived.

On behalf of the 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, and the Major General; a certificate of appreciation was presented to Don, the KY state captain, for his support and service for the division, the post, and our nation.  This meant a great deal to Don and those of us who have seen him in action.  Although the certificate was presented to Don, I want everyone to know that without each and every member who takes the time to support our troops and the fallen heros of America, yesterday's presentation may never have happened.
(quoted by JohnnyW in his Ride Report)
It was a very special moment for me and the Patriot Guard. Ft Campbell and the Screaming Eagles of the 101st have had special bond since the beginning of the Patriot Guard. The 101st has proudly served this nation and borne more than its share of casualties. It is a sad honor that they know me by name, we have rode for their warriors on so many Missions. I can think of no higher honor than to be recognized by the leader of the Nations finest and bravest. Air Assault! (quoted by Don in Ride Reports)
